History of Sherwood

Originated in 1930, Sherwood Knitting Mills have been manufacturing custom sportswear to all sporting codes. Specializing in knitted football jumpers, the Spicer family built the business supplying football clubs in the western suburbs of Melbourne.

Since merging under the Hunting Lady Pty Ltd banner in 2007, the brands has seen extreme growth in all sporting arenas and now are licensed and preferred suppliers to over 90% of Melbourne’s Metropolitan Football Leagues. With the acquisition of Footypak in 2008 to the licensed apparel business this further grows the active team wear side to the south east of Melbourne.

Sherwood Sportswear’s sister brand Ventou Garment Technology commonly known as ‘VENTOU’ are entrepreneurs in the Cycling, Triathlon and Athletics clothing industry. Constantly developing new products and technology to give athletes the edge amongst their competitors. Look out for a concept store to open soon in Black Rock!
